Pros
Premium materials
Innovative fast-fit lacing system
Cons
Feels a little wobbly on lateral cuts
Best Suitable For: A must-have for sneakerheads who are into innovative tech!
Category Performance Ratings
8.5
Traction
Circle-and-line translucent rubber pattern. Excellent grip on clean indoor courts but dust-sensitive and inconsistent on dirty surfaces.
8.3
Cushion
Full-length Cushlon foam. Bouncy, heel-focused compression with good impact protection but reduced court feel.
9.3
Materials
Premium synthetic and mesh upper with soft overlays. Lightweight, breathable and nice-feeling with minimal break-in for indoor use.
7.8
Support
Adaptive lacing, internal heel counter, outrigger and external heel clip. Strong lockdown and lateral stability but higher stack can feel tippy.
8.5
Fit
Runs true to size with a slightly narrow forefoot. Self-lacing provides precise repeatable lockdown but limits manual adjustment.
25%
Outdoor
Soft translucent rubber compound. Not ideal outdoors as traction and durability suffer on rough courts and outdoor use is not recommended.
small
large
Sizing
Runs true to size for most players. Keep your normal size unless you have very wide feet.
narrow
wide
Width
Best for narrow to regular widths. Forefoot runs slightly narrow and may feel tight for wide-footed players.

Even ignoring the fast-fit adaptive lacing system - this is a really nice performance basketball shoe. On top of that - this is a real head-turner!

The Nike Adapt BB is a good performance basketball shoe. But there are better performers for much cheaper. So if you are a sneakerhead, or really into innovative tech, then this is a great shoe!

I had a lot of fun playing in the Nike Adapt BB. The self-lacing system works well and the overall performance is really solid. Pick these up if you are interested in the latest tech and you can afford the hefty price tag!

The circle and lines traction pattern using translucent rubber is screaming loud and works really well on clean courts. On dusty courts, you will need a while to break-in but it never gets really good.

Even though the rubber is translucent I found the traction to be rather good. Works very well on clean courts, but dusty courts can be problematic.

The traction is clearly the best performance aspect of the Nike Adapt BB! Squeaky, responsive, but a little inconsistent on dusty courts.

The Cushlon cushioning is super nice. Really nice compression in the heel and super bouncy. The only downside is that you don't get a ton of court feel.

I love the full-length Cushlon cushioning setup, but I would have preferred to see a Lunarlon or React setup.

The full-length Cushlon insole feels super comfortable, especially in the heel! I really like the cushioning setup, but for $350 I had hoped for a little more.

Full-length Cushlon is nice - but not the best cushion system Nike has to offer.

I didn't have any heel slippage and no side-to-side movement in the forefoot. The shoe felt a little bit "tippy" at times, mostly because of the soft cushioning.

The fit is pretty good for what it is. But I feel that a traditional lacing system allows you to better customize the fit to your feet.
