6.9
Traction
Modernized herringbone pattern with standard rubber. Excellent grip on clean courts, but highly sensitive to dust and needs constant wiping.
8.6
Cushion
Full-length Cushlon with top-loaded forefoot Zoom. Bouncy ride with good forefoot pop and moderate impact protection.
6.5
Materials
Moulded synthetic upper that is thick and rigid. It's very stiff, creases easily, and is slow to break in. Ventilation is also poor.
8.5
Support
Wide base, stiff heel counter, midfoot shank and webbing. Strong lateral stability and containment.
7.0
Fit
Runs true to size for many, but the width feedback varies. Lockdown is decent when laced; the toe box can feel narrow or have dead space.
0%
Outdoor
Soft rubber compound. Poor durability, and the traction wears away quickly. Not recommended for outdoor play.
small
large
Sizing
Runs true to size for most people. Slightly wide feet may prefer a half size up for comfort.
narrow
wide
Width
Fits narrow to regular widths best. Wide footers may feel cramped in the toe box or need an upsize.

The Nike Book 2 is a tale of two shoes. Tooling, cushioning, and stability are improved. The heavy, thick upper and narrow fit make it great for some players, but are problematic for wider footers.

No, don't get the Nike Book 2. It's a brick. It's overly stiff, heavy, and clunky with terrible traction on dusty courts. Support and cushioning are decent, but they don't make up for the shoe's major flaws.

The Nike Book 2 is a disappointment compared to its predecessor. This first colorway has a stiff, uncomfortable upper and poor traction on dusty courts. I wouldn't play in these and would likely return them.

The Nike Book 2 were unbearable and literally not playable. They felt like bricks out of the box and caused painful ankle pinching when laced to the top. Traction and cushion were good, but stiff materials and poor comfort ruined the experience.

The traction is a pleasant surprise. Sticky rubber grips well and still handles dust after a quick wipe.

The traction sucks. It picks up dust, and I was sliding all over on dusty courts. On clean courts, it's only okay.

The traction is not great. It grips on clean courts but picks up a ton of dust. You'll need to wipe constantly, or you'll slide out on very dusty surfaces.

The traction has a modernized herringbone pattern. It stops quickly and provides solid pivoting. It played well on clean courts and fairly well on mildly dusty courts.

The cushioning is snappy because of the forefoot Zoom. It's bouncy yet stable with a decent court feel. Not ultra plush but responsive for quick, explosive steps.
