PROS:

  • Well-balanced Boost cushioning
  • Very supportive

CONS:

  • Traction on dusty courts is problematic

Summary of 6 Expert Reviews:

The Adidas Marquee Boost is a modern performance basketball shoe with a bit of retro flair. The traction sticks like glue on clean courts but can be problematic on dusty courts, especially in the beginning. The Boost cushioning provides a lot of impact protection in the heel and responsiveness in the forefoot. If you are looking for a shoe with a lot of ankle support then the high version has you covered with a firm and supportive ankle collar. The materials are rather basic but they look and feel nice and get the job done. Overall, the Marquee Boost is a very good all-around performer that should work for basketball players of all positions.

This modern take on an old school hoop shoe is a great all-around performer but needs a little patience to break-in.

The Marquee Boost is a great performer but I would recommend the Low version if you like freedom of movement around your ankles.

Traction of the Adidas Marquee Boost:

Jalique Gabay [weartesters.com]
The traction was excellent on clean courts, but I had to wipe the translucent rubber a lot on dusty courts.

Schwollo
No unnecessary storytelling elements, just simple herringbone that works. Well done Adidas!

The traditional herringbone pattern gives you a super aggressive bite on clean courts but needs occasional wiping on dusty courts.

Basic herringbone has you covered in every direction. Collects a lot of dust on dirty courts.

NightWing2303 [weartesters.com]
The thin and tightly spaced herringbone pattern works well on clean courts but gets clogged with dust easily.

Support of the Adidas Marquee Boost:

Jalique Gabay [weartesters.com]
No complaints whatsoever!

Schwollo
The rather stiff ankle collar, midfoot shank, and wide outrigger provide great support and stability.

The thick Achilles padding prevents heel slip. You also get good lateral containment, supportive materials, and a very flat and stable outsole.

The ankle collar of the High version is very firm and supportive but limits your mobility a little bit. I experienced no heel slippage, no side-to-side movements in the footbed, and great lateral stability.
