Puma Court Rider Review

Pros:
It is very affordable at only $100
The shoe is very secure and supportive
Cons:
Very minimal cushioning in the forefoot
Quality of materials is a bit lacklustre

Performance of the Puma Court Rider:

Reviewers were split on the performance of the traction but were in agreement that the rubber compound is fairly solid. The cushion is very minimal, especially in the forefoot of the shoe. However, reviewers did agree that there is a bit of impact protection provided in the heel of the shoe. Support and lockdown on the shoe are also very good. Puma did a good job of layering extra materials on the lateral side of the shoe to help keep your foot contained. The heel counter is also solid and does a good job to help you feel secure. The materials are not the best quality but do get the job done and feel quite comfortable on foot. All in all, the Puma Court Rider is a decent new offering by Puma basketball. It will be a shoe to consider if you don't mind minimal cushioning and like a shoe that feels low to the ground.

Overall, it is a comfortable and cozy feeling shoe, but it wasn't very responsive because the traction didn't perform well. The cushion is also pretty minimal, but that's understandable for a budget shoe like the Court Rider. I didn't really like playing in this shoe considering there are plenty of good options in the budget shoe price range.

The Puma Court Rider is quite an interesting evolution in the line of Puma basketball shoes. It is also a very well-priced shoe that falls in the budget range. The shoe is very low to the ground with minimal cushion in the forefoot. This gives the shoe great court feel but still has decent impact protection in the heel. The traction pattern is very grippy and it really gets the job done. I'm impressed.

The traction is not good. I never have dust issues on the court I played on, but had issues with the Court Rider.

I love the use of the Puma logo on the outsole pattern. It's grippy and works well. The traction under the ball of your foot feels very nice when pivoting.

The step-in comfort kind of sucks. In the heel, there is a bit of compression. The setup provides adequate impact protection but has good court feel.

There is not much cushion in the forefoot. In the heel, there is more foam. It's low and minimal, but it is still somewhat shock absorbent.

The quality of the materials isn't the best, but they do feel comfortable. Overall, it is cozy and minimal. One thing I encountered was that the shoe wasn't very breathable.

The materials are nice and they are somewhat breathable. I liked the mix of materials chosen and the fact that they added a bit of plastic-like material around the ankle to help with structure.

I had no issues with support and lockdown. In the forefoot, the synthetic leather and the Puma logo act as a sidewall to assist with lateral containment which worked well.

The padding around the heel area is very soft while still feeling solid. The heel-cup itself is very hard and really helps clutch your heel.

The rubber is pretty hard and the grooves are very thick. It should last outdoors.

You may want to go down half a size if you have a narrow foot, otherwise true to size fits well.
