Category Performance Ratings

Expert Ratings (4)
User Ratings (3)
6.5
Traction
Same traction pattern as the standard Zion 3 with a relatively shallow rubber outsole. Tacky on clean courts but dust-sensitive and slips on dirty floors.
8.3
Cushion
Full-length drop-in midsole with full-length Zoom. Plush, low-to-ground feel with strong impact protection; some users find it bouncy, others note a softer ride.
8.0
Materials
Nubuck and synthetic leather upper replacing mesh. Feels more premium and supportive for most, though a few reviewers find nubuck less comfortable.
8.0
Support
Dorsal midfoot strap with molded heel counter and firm side walls. Provides strong heel lockdown, lateral containment, and torsional stability.
6.6
Fit
Very narrow shape with a snug forefoot and tight toe box. Excellent heel lockdown but wider feet should size up.
25%
Outdoor
Shallow rubber depth and dust-sensitive traction limit outdoor durability and grip. Compound may be hard but traction degrades quickly outdoors.
small
large
Sizing
Runs narrow; narrow and medium feet can go true to size. Wider feet should size up half to one size for roomier fit.
narrow
wide
Width
Extremely narrow last. Best for narrow to regular feet; wide footers will likely feel constricted.

The heel counter contains your foot in the back of the shoe well. There's lots of lateral support and containment with the side walls and the midfoot strap.

I'm a fan of the dorsal retention strap. The strap and heel counter combine to keep your heel locked in. The fit negates a lot of the support benefits, though.
