Reebok Engine A Review

Pros:
Comfortable impact protection
Consistent traction on clean courts
Cons:
Support could be better around the heel
Picks up dust quickly

Performance of the Reebok Engine A:

Reebok is back in the performance basketball industry with the introduction of the Reebok Engine A. Reviewers agree that the traction performs consistently well on clean courts, but the outsole picks up dust quickly. Make sure to wipe regularly. Reebok uses an updated Energy Return System (ERS) for cushioning. The ERS foam is under the heel and forefoot. It provides decent impact protection. The materials are synthetic and feel slightly heavier than average. However, the upper is comfortable and breathable. The fit is large. Many reviewers recommended sizing down by half a size. Support and lockdown are decent, but the heel containment could be better. It takes a bit of re-lacing to feel secure. As an introductory model, the Reebok Engine A is a solid performer, thanks to the comfortable cushioning and decent traction.

On a clean court, the traction performs nicely. My only problem is the dust pickup. I had to wipe often.

I like the tough top-loaded shank and the Energy Return System foam. The shock absorption is impressive, and there's a bit of bounce.

I like the insole, and the heel is plush. The ERS foam provides plenty of impact protection. I wish it were bouncier, though.

The upper is a lot of TPU mesh and panelling, and the shoe heats up a lot. However, I love the comfort.
