The Anta KAI 3 is one of the best-built shoes at its price. Fantastic traction and materials, a bouncy ETPU midsole, and strong lockdown. It needs a break-in and may irritate some midfoot shapes, but once settled, it's a top performer.
 More details
The KAI 3 is a very well-rounded shoe and possibly my favourite KAI yet. It feels comfortable and supportive. The fit is the standout feature, and overall, it's one of the better shoes this year.

The Anta KAI 3 is an elite performance basketball shoe. Great traction, a bouncy heel, a snug, comfortable fit, and excellent support for the price. I highly recommend them and will keep a pair in my bag.

The Anta KAI 3 is lightweight, breathable, and very comfortable in the heel with great lockdown and smooth transitions. Traction is top-tier on clean courts, but dust performance and a thin forefoot cushion hold it back.

The traction is exceptional. The multi-directional wavy tread grips very well and barely picks up dust. One wipe restores grip, and the shoe didn't slip until about 37–38 degrees.
 More details
The traction is just awesome. It's consistent across courts and only needs an occasional wipe.

The traction is very, very good. It grips on clean courts and still performs well on dusty courts. Do a quick wipe if you see dust.

Amazing bite on clean courts. It grips really well. It picks up dust quickly and needs frequent wiping, so it slides on dusty courts.

The cushioning is bouncy and responsive. It's a full bed of N2/ETPU, so it's shock absorptive but not super plush. Good for nimble, side-to-side play, but not the softest ride.
 More details
The cushioning balances court feel and impact protection. It breaks in and gets bouncier, making it a great option.

The cushioning is pretty nice. The heel is soft and has good impact protection. The forefoot is thinner and more responsive for quick, shifty play.

Cushioning uses an ETPU base with a plush nitrogen-style foam. You get solid impact protection and a bouncy heel, while the forefoot stays very close to the floor.

February 6, 2026
The heel is extremely soft with good compression and bounce. The forefoot is thinner and feels a bit dead, so impact protection there is lacking.

The materials are thoughtful and high-quality. Woven TPU mesh with fused overlays and underlays creates a sandwich upper that breathes very well.
 More details
The upper is textile and hot-melt. It breaks in fast, ventilates well, and has held up with no visible wear so far.

The materials are lightweight textiles that conform to the foot. There is a fuse in high-wear areas and a bit of leather at the rear for a premium touch.

The materials aren't premium, but they perform very well. Breathable mesh, cracked synthetic leather accents, TPU strands for durability, and they break in quickly on foot.

The upper is a leno-weave that breathes well and breaks in soft. It feels nice and light, but the open spots may fuzz and seem less durable.

Support is excellent. The serrated heel counter and thick padding secure the heel. Lateral stability is very good, and torsional stability is decent.
 More details
The support is great. You get a wide, stable base and lateral midsole wrap. The carbon fibre plate adds stiffness without feeling restrictive.

Lockdown is strong with no heel slippage thanks to thick padding and a solid heel counter. The midfoot runs snug, and the tongue can irritate until you break them in.

The fit is foot-shaped and roomy for the toes while still providing secure lockdown. It feels exceptionally comfortable and allows natural toe flex.

I went true to size, and the shoe fits well. The upper material stretches after break-in, so the toe box gets slightly roomier than I prefer.

The soft 14.8 durometer rubber barely wore on the belt sander (only 0.1g loss). It resists dust and should hold up well outdoors.
 More details
The rubber feels very soft, so outdoor use might not be ideal. I'd primarily use these as an indoor shoe.

It should be okay outdoors. The grooves are deep, but there are thin spots that might wear or tear, so it is not suitable for outdoor use.
